Nero

Category: DESIGN INTERIOR

Nero is the concept of renovating an existing apartment to meet the needs of a young couple. The design process started with an analysis of their needs and preferences, their way of life, and the existing situation of the apartment for further reconfiguration.

Starting from the existing situation, the decision was made to functionally reconfigure the space by demolishing existing walls and building new compartments. Also, from a functional point of view, the apartment was divided into two large areas, the parents’ and children’s areas, which can be accessed separately from the main entrance hall. The parents’ area, in turn, is divided into a living area, with a living room, dining area, and open space kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and wardrobe, and the child’s
area also has a bedroom, a bathroom, and a small living area with a kitchen.
Other critical functional requirements that were taken into account were the provision of a larger area for the wardrobe and an area for storing the collection of art objects of the clients. Aesthetically, the design is minimalist, mostly in one tone, but with light and color accents. Just like in the living area, the black walls are enriched by the lush green of the exotic plants, as well as by the red accents of the furniture and the warm yellow of the lighting fixtures. An essential role in this space belongs to the display shelves of the
customers’ collectibles, which also have their own lighting system. The other rooms in this area, the bedroom, the bathroom, and the wardrobe, are finished in the same shade of black. In the bedroom, the color accent is represented by the composition of exotic plants and a bathtub in a shade of aquamarine, and in the bathroom, the wall is finished with bronze metallic tiles.

The general atmosphere is meant to highlight the clients’ appetite for a luxurious way of life. The child’s area contrasts with the parents’ area, even chromatically, with the white walls contrasting with the black walls. The space is brighter and warmer thanks to the light wood furniture, wood that can also be found on the walls.
